Hi Kevin

Good news first – your Hammond family was in the 1851 census, perhaps a bit older than you had assumed

HO107/1706 Folio 580B
Clapgate Albury
John Hammond head marr 49 ag lab born Albury
Sarah Hammond wife 40 b Braughing Herts
William Hammond son 16 ag lab b Albury
John Hammond son 15 ag lab b Albury
Then to the top of the next page 581
James Hammond son of John 12 scholar b Albury
Edmund Hammond son 10 Scholar b Albury
George Hammond son 6 b Albury

I don’t know whether there is any significance to the “son of John” or whether the enumerator was merely cross referring back to the previous page.

Lots of Aylotts in Albury, and as you don’t give any hint as to Emma’s age or her parents I’ll list them all. There is an Emma but I’m not sure she’s the right one as she’s 9 years older than George.

Folio 573B
Patmore Heath Albury
Joseph Aylott head marr 27 ag lab b Albury
Rebecca Aylott wife 22 b Albury
Hannah Smith stepdau 1 b Enfield Middx

Folio 574
Gravesend Albury
George Aylott h m 51 ag lab b Albury
Sarah Aylott wife 50 b Furneaux Pelham Herts

Church End Albury Folio 584
Thomas Aylott h m 60 ag lab b Albury
Sarah Aylott wife 62 b Essex Farnham
James Aylott son widower 35 ag lab b Albury
Rebecca Albury granddau 14 b Albury
Thomas Aylott grandson 12 b Albury
Jane Aylott granddau 9 b Brentwood Essex
?? Aylott grandson 7 b Albury

Folio 584B
Francis Aylott h m 62 ag lab b Albury
Lydia Aylott wife 65 b Farnham Essex
Elizabeth Aylott dau unmarr 27 b Albury
James Aylott son unm 23 ag lab b Albury
Emma Aylott granddau 15 scholar b Albury
Sarah Aylott granddau 13 scholar b Albury
Mary Aylott granddau 4 b Albury

A pity that there is no clue as to who Emma’s parents are

Folio 585
Albury End, Albury
Richard Aylott h m 51 ag lab b Albury
Charlotte Aylott wife 49 b Baldock Herts
John Aylott son 16 scholar b Albury
Phoebe Aylott dau 4 scholar b Albury

Should give you something to chew on!

Good luck

David

PS Just had a quick look at later censuses:
In 1871 George 25 a corn factors labourer born Albury is living at 2 Park Rd Leyton with wife Sarah 26 born Braughing with children Ellen 4 Sarah 2 and Emily 6mths
all born at Leytonstone

But in 1881 his wife is Emma aged 25 b Albury, so she obviously wasn't born at the time of the 1851 census.

And Murphy's law, in 1871 Emma Aylott 15 born Albury was one of four servants in Paddington for William Beaumont a 29 year old solicitor.

So to establish Emma's parents you'll need the 1861 census, and/or her birth certificate - but the good news is that there is an entry on the IGI which looks right:
Emma Aylott christened at Aldbury on 5 August 1855 dau of Joseph and Rebecca (see the first entry from 1851 above)

There is a christening on the IGI of Joseph Aylot at Albury on 26 July 1823 son of Joseph and Sarah (not sure if you are aware of the IGI - it's on www.familysearch.org - probably one of the most invaluable genealogical aids on the internet. But you should really check the entries with the parish register particularly if they are member submissions many of which tend to be of the wishful thinking variety!)

OK, I've modified this message so many times it's now tomorrow, time to switch off brain!

PPS Sunday 9.50
There's a marriage on the IGI at Albury on 26 May 1833 between John Hammond and Sarah Lee; and William Hammond was christened on 1 June 1834
