Lt S H Snelgrove.... translation required

Hello All,

Could someone help me with a translation please.

The attached is from an Enquiry made by the British War Office on behalf of the father of Lt Sidney Henry Snelgrove, attached to the 7th Bn KRRC, who was reported missing in action 30/31st July 1915 at Hooge.

I can guess the drift of it, but am hoping that someone can give me a proper translation.

Not recorded in the prisoners of war lists
Enquiries were made by investigation following notification

Department for Prisoners welfare

The stamp top left is:  German Red Cross Information about prisoners of war

That's very helpful.

He was last seen by another officer leading his men across the open towards trenches held by the Germans. His body was never recovered.
