Fritz Diedrichs a prussian to australia mystery
« on: Monday 01 December 08 23:21 GMT (UK) »
Fritz Diedrichs was an emigrant who came to Australia via liverpool England 1872 on ship "RUTLAND"
settled in Dundee  near Glen Innes NSW

He married Henrietta Mathes from Prussia in Highfields near Toowoomba QLD 1877

But the mystery of this man was another name, Albert Platt who appears as Henrietta's husband from 1880
there are no death records for this man in Australia yet found
who WAS FRITZ DIEDRICHS and or Albert Platt ???

Do Albert and Heniretta  have children  together?

perhaps  if  they  do and you  have certificates  what do they reveal  to you, perhaps he just changed his name for whatever reason?

Jenn could only see one birth in the Qld indexes - 1880  Emily Matilda and four in the NSW indexes.

Dear Researcher',
Henrietta Carolina Mathes was born dec. 1876
no record of father  on Birth Certificate
only illegitimate
But the marriage of her parents Fritz Diedrichs and Henrietta Mathes was Jan 1877

Have you compared details of the groom on the marriage cert with those on the birth cert of the PLATT children or on Albert PLATT's death cert?

May I make some helpful suggestions to enable you to get a good result

* Detail all you know in the first post about the people you are requesting further info/research

*Please read what information you have already detailed on the thread and the replies,  to save repeating yourself

*Always give feedback/thank the members who have helped.  We aren't a research service...it is hoped that you will try to help others on the forum as we are helping or trying to help you.

Sorry if I sound a tad grumpy.

Cheers

thank you for your help
and yes I am a little remiss with my asking about this family and
with the accuracy of information as I am helping a friend with it bit by bit

I have been greatly helped with all my own  rootschats family history and remembered to acknowledge all those who have shown a fantastic interest and insight to help me
As a family historian I am a raw beginner !! and pretty dim!!
However I hope to introduce my friend to join and become a member of rootschat herself soon

We met at a German interest group(now disbanded) both with complex German/Prussian problems and somehow we just continue to share lack of good German information

I really am grateful for support and suggestions

Turramurra....ask your friend to write all she knows before asking you to post on her behalf.  I agree it would be better if actually did/wrote her own posts.

I probably didn't express myself all that well when I wrote the suggestions but would like to emphasize the importance of answering any questions.

Chatters ask questions to help them research....now some replies to the questions I asked in the my last post......please.

Are these their chn as well ?

and

Have you compared details of the groom on the marriage cert with those on the birth cert of the PLATT children or on Albert PLATT's death cert ?

Cheers
Cando...who is usually very cheerful :)

Thank you
the 4  children except Emily Matilda  are those of Albert Platt and Henrietta Mathes

birth certificates show Albert Platt comes from Bomberg, Posen, Prussia
as yet no death certificate of Albert Platt  found
