I had a look at the Birse OPR while at the ANEFHS, found the following:
Joseph Couts & Margaret Clark were "both in this parish" at the time of their marriage.
Baptisms:
Joseph Coutts at the Connachy had James bp 1 Sep 1799, wit William & James Ross
" " at Auchnafoy had Jean bp 15 Aug 1801, wit James Ross & Andrew Coutts
" " at Minly had John bp 10 Jul 1803, wit Andrew Coutts & James Harper
" " at Minly had Joseph bp 9 Jun 1805, wit congregation
" " at Minly had Mary bp 15 Jun 1807, wit Andrew Coutts & James Ross
Baptism of Thomas 23 Apr 1809 not found, presumably out of order on the film.
" " at Ennachy had Elspet bp 29 Apr 1813, wit Alex Duncan & Elspet Grant in Ennachy
Joseph Coutts & wf Margaret Clark at Ennachy had Margaret bp 10 Aug 1815, wit James Ross in Aucnafoy & James Ross in Ennachy
Baptism of Isabel 28 Apr 1818, presumably out of order on the film.
Joseph Coutts & wf Margaret Clark at Ennachy had Christian bp 6 Aug 1820, wit congregation.
Joseph Coutts & wf Margaret Clark at subtenants at Ennachy had twins George Smith Couts & Charles Mitchel Couts, wit John Burness & Charles Mitchell
Also noticed: 23 May 1805 Andrew Coutts in Minly had Ann, wit James Harper & Joseph Coutts.
Maybe Andrew C & Joseph C were brothers? Or father & son? There is an Andrew Couts bp to Thomas Couts 6th Jun 1761, and Andrew born to Andrew 9th Oct 1791.
The traditional naming pattern is: 1st son after the father's father, 2nd after the mother's father; 1st daur after the mother's mother, 2nd after father's mother.
