Family Tree Maker 2008.

Hi can anyone tell me how to get my family data from FTM 2005 into FTM 2008,cannot see how to do it.

Could you export your file from one and into the other.   This is how they are normally transferred.

Choose Open on the File menu and the program defaults to opening FTM 2008 files and files from FTM Previous Versions.

Just navigate to the appropriate folder as for opening any file, click on the appropriate file name and then click on the Open button.

Not if someone if upgrading their software.

You are looking to open a .FTW file which was last used by FTM-2005.

Do a search for it if you do not know where it was saved.

Start >> Search >> For Files and Folders and enter the search criteria: *.ftw
