Eastbourne Baptisms=Completed
« on: Sunday 07 December 08 00:08 GMT (UK) »
Hi
can someone find these baptisms for me?

Mary WOOD-daughter of Richard Wood-Family record states she was born Feb 9th 1792

Mary WISHLADE/WISSLEOD(the surname might be Wood as I don't know if she's illegitimate).daughter of Mr Wishlade/Wissleod and Mary Wood.Family records give date of birth as Jan 29th 1810.

Both women in the census from 1851 to their deaths consistently say they were born in Eastbourn,Sussex.

Many thanks,
Trisha  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Ian,
wow,many thanks for thanks.
Mr John Wishlade  has been the centre of discussion along with with his wife on the Lincolnshire board and we all came to the conclusion they never got married. What a turn up for the books.
You  don't know how pleased I  am about this.I don't suppose ,by any chance it said anything about John's father and the Church they were married?

Nothing on the SMI about the church, but I think the main one there is St Mary's. They were married after banns. If the banns registers still exist there might be more info in them. Not likely to mention father's name though. That did not come in until 1837.
