4th bn The RWF had their HQ at Wrexham

There was also a "Home Service" bn in WW1 where the Sgt could have sojourned...
One more charge and then be dumb,

Zooming in on the Sgt's medal, I'm not sure it is Boer War. Doesn't look right, style of clasps, suspension etc

More like an India General Service 1908-35 if I was hazarding a guess

Name interests: Boulton, Murrell, Lock, Croxton, Skinner, Blewett, Tonkin, Trathen.

I should mention I checked out John Gent's records while they were free during november on Ancestry, unfortunately (by mistake) I didn't copy them, doh!
Thanks Scrimnet, I was searching the net last night and saw a Welsh Fusilier which I thought resembled one of these, I also noticed they were based in Wrexham so that all fits. I had assumed the message pointed to someone dying in battle but I suppose he could have died in the Flu epidemic!
Have any of you noticed an oriental looking soldier in the back row, or is it just me?

Quite probably...I'm afraid I became fixated with the Regt identity, and did but glance at the medal... ::) ::) ::) ::)

There are no Gents listed on the CWGC with the RWF, which had he died of the influenza epidemic, he would be.

Perhaps he died in operations in the 20s or something...

Perhaps a call to the Regt museum would pay dividends...

I don't think the chap in the cuttings is the same as the chap in the pics...

What about the female side?
