War records for James Harold EDWARDS
« on: Wednesday 10 December 08 15:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction i am trying to trace any military records of my Grandad James Harold Edwards 1876 - 1946.  I understand that he served with the Welsh Guards and may have been involved in the Boar War.  I have looked at sites relating to the Boar War and claiming medals for service in both world war's but have become unstuck.

Does anyone know what my next move is please?

Thank you very much for your time

Can you post some more information. The Welsh Guards werent formed until 26th February 1915 & therefore any Boer War service would have been with another Regiment

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul

Thank you very much for replying, and so quickly. I have just found out that James was in fact a private in the 421 Agricultural Regiment in 1918!  Progress!  The only question i have now is how would i obtain his records.?

Thank you for your help

Kind regards

Kimberly
