AGAR/GASHLER lookup please

Hi,

I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to look up a marriage (& perhaps birth/death records) for me please.

It is concerning SENTA PAULA GASHLER who was born on the 20th of May 1901 in Austria, she moved to Australia in late 1909 with her family.  As an adult she moved to NZ....(she was for some time in Wellington)  In a document obtained from the Australian National Archives, Senta wrote in a letter dated 1949 that said she "had been a resident of NZ on and off for 20 years)...

1.  I'd love to know when she moved to NZ originally - are there passenger lists that would detail this event?

....she met and married a man called AGAR (don't know his first name)...

2. I'd be very interested to know where and when they were married.

....I'm not sure if they had any children.

3. I'd be grateful if someone could have a little look for children of this marriage please.

....I believe she died in NZ....

4. Finally I'd like to know when and where she died.

Thank you for looking, Senta is my husband's Great Aunt.

If you search at archives there are immigration files 1958 for
TENTA PAULA AGAR

Agar, Tenta Paula (20-05-1901)

and her probate
AGAR Senta Paula - Rotorua - Married Woman 1976

Hi Althea,

Thank you very much for that, I'll get on to the archives site and have a look!

No sign of any children of the marriage?   I'm not sure what Senta's husband did for a living, but they did seem to travel abroad a lot, to Canada & South Africa - if we can't find any children in NZ then perhaps they will turn up there.

Her probate should give you all the answers you want re children and husband

Alternatively contact Rotorua cem and ask for burial/MI details

Hi Bren,

Thanks so much, that's very interesting.  My husband's great Aunt who is still living hasn't mentioned that Senta was married twice (neither did the Archival documents)...will talk to her about it when I next see her.

Amazing how a couple of little clues pop up and on goes the quest again.
