1891/1901 census look-up please - GILBERT - COMPLETED

I would appreciate a look-up on the 1891 and 1901 censuses please for Thomas Gilbert and his family and also his mother Sarah

Thomas Franks Gilbert was born in Gt Glen in 1858 and was married in late 1881 to Drusilla and he stayed around the Leicester area
His mother Sarah was b about 1810 in Saddington and is still alive in 1901 and could be living with him
In 1881 he and his mother are in Leicester St Margaret

PS Have just looked on 1901 index and mother Sarah is in London with son John W - transcribed as born in Leicester Paddington

Welcome - it's nice to find someone else with a connection to Great Glen

The Gilberts are unfortunately not in my main line, but however they, along with many other Great Glen families, are linked to my Lewins and Harrisons and I have done considerable research on lots of them as they were known to my great grandparents's family

There were lots of inter-marriages which link up some of the more common family names that have been in Great Glen for ages

I don't currently have access to my info as I'm not on my own computer but as Mike said you need a few more posts before we can exchange any private messages anyway
