in collingwood victoria in 1889....now this is where it gets to a sticky problem....i have heard that he remarried in 1901 in victoria to a lily briggs and they had a daughter enid in 1905 or 1906  so this means he must have divorced elizabeth mensforth as she died in 1951...can anyone please help as funds to buy a death certificate for william at christmas time is zilch....  cheers lynie.... ;)

Hi Lynie,

I checked the other electoral rolls

1914     44 Derby St Collingwood

William Waterhouse BROWN - Blacksmith
Edward Thomas BROWN - Blacksmith
Elizabeth BROWN - Home Duties

1924     11 Gordon Grove, Northcote

William Waterhouse BROWN - Driller

Don't know where Elizabeth was  :-\

1931   11 Gordon Grove, Northcote

William Waterhouse BROWN - Driller
Elizabeth BROWN - Home Duties

So it looks like William stayed with Elizabeth until he died in 1932

Hi Lynie,
There are others of your Browns at the same cemetery I think
Perhaps you will enjoy a browse.
http://www.fcmp.com.au

There is also a ww1 service history for the son William Kent in which his father William W. is Next of Kin.
You may like also to see another address for Elizabeth in about 1935
Basting Street Northcote.
William had a serious injury in the fighting.
