Rutherford Family, Govan

Looking for information on Rutherford Family originally from Ireland.

Parents: George Rutherford & Sarah Scoffield.

Children born in Greenock: Samuel Rutherford, Isaac Rutherford and Mary Rutherford, my great grandmother.

Samuel and Isaac are in Govan/Glasgow in census records 1881-1901

I posted on the rootschat Irish forum in February about George and Sarah but no luck so far. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you checked SP for the deaths of George and Sarah?

Yes, I have information on both of their deaths from SP.  They died in Glasgow and Govan. I know their parents names and have posted them on the Irish forum too.

I am also looking for any links to George and Sarah's children Samuel and Isaac Rutherford. I have census/marriage records for them.  They were still in the Glasgow area in 1901.

Hi Linj,
            Are you positive Rutherfords came from Ireland, found a lot in Alloa, tracing marriage back from Grainger connection. I did not check back on their parents Alexander Rutherford and Elizabeth Syme to see where they were born, might be worth checking. They had 12 children from Janet 1850 to Mungo 1869, no George in the line though but perhaps from one of the sons marriages?

Thanks for your reply Duncan.

George Rutherford was born 1816 Manorhamilton, County Leitrim and Sarah Scoffield was born 1817 Ballymona Ireland.

They married in Greenock.  I also posted on the Renfrewshire forum as the family lived in Greenock for a while. A few people posted census information for me which has been helpful. 

I don't know of any links to Alexander Rutherford and Elizabeth Syme but if I find any I'll post them.
