Cowbridge marriage lookup 1785

Is anyone able to check out the marriage of Thomas Horseman and Mary Thomas at Cowbridge 19 May 1785 (details from the IGI)
any clues as to his identity / age / occupation would be useful.

Hi Heathers,

The PR index confirms the date of marriage by Licence, and indicates that there are some Personal details available in the actual Registers. Both parties are of Cowbridge parish; no other information.

I don't know whether the following info is connected or might be of interest:

     Baptism of Thomas HORSEMAN at Cowbridge 8 January 1795, son of Thomas and Mary.

Thanks for that info.  Hopefully someone may be visiting the archives who can look at the marriage details for me.

The baptism of Thomas is interesting also,  but rather later than I was expecting,  although it may be that he was done late.  Were there any other Cowbridge Horseman baptisms ?

Hi Heathers,

Further checking shows that Thomas was seven years old at baptism, giving YoB of abt 1788. No other Cowbridge baptisms.

Hi,  and again thanks.  Thats what I would have expected (aged about 7)
In subsequent census records he appears as Thomas Thomas Hors(e)man,  so a father Thomas Horsman  and mother Mary Thomas would account for the 'double Thomas'.  Several of his kids and grandchildren also took mothers maiden names as a middle name.
