children of James George & Caroline Cecelia PRESTON

 Hi everyone!!

Am trying to track down James George & Caroline Cecelia PRESTON.

They married in Ontario, Canada in 1886 but aren't to be found in the next 2 subsequent census in Canada.

I am now thinking they may have come to Australia as Caroline had 3 siblings and her mother here.

Can anyone help?

James George PRESTON was born 1865 London, England

Caroline Cecilia BLIZARD was born 1863 Chelsea, England

They married in 1886 in York, Ontario, Canada. Had no luck finding any other trace of them via "emigrants to United States" board

She did have a brother who went to Michigan USA, his name was Arthur James BLIZARD b 1876, Chelsea

Carolines mother was also Caroline BLIZARD nee HARROWAY. She came to Australia c1892 after the death of her husband William Charles BLIZARD in 1890, Chelsea

Carolines other siblings in Australia were

Charles William BLIZARD b 1861 Chelsea, arrived in Aust bet 1883-1885. He married twice and seemed to turn up all over Australia, namely SA, WA and Vic

Harry James BLIZARD b 1869 Chelsea, arrived in Aust c1890, married Mary Temple HARRIS and lived in SA

Alice Margaret BLIZARD b 1873 Chelsea. Married William Joseph GREEN in England in 1891 and arrived in Aust in 1892 aboard the "Stasford"

I have looked at SA BDM records but have found no trace of them in SA

Ronica...Have you looked here..there is a death of a Caroline BLIZARD in 1897.

I also browsed the Australian electoral records for 1900-1903 but couldn't see them...however NSW electoral records are not online for that period and SA are not  online at all.  Not on the CD  for NSW 1903 enrolments either.

Only these from CD SA 1909 Enrolments.

Thanks Cando - i didn't see the death of Caroline BLIZARD until you pointed it out.

To start with i was quite excited but then logic set in. My Caroline BLIZARD married in 1886 so her death should be recorded as PRESTON. (I know records are only as good as those giving the information)

The father and mothers name match my Carolines parents but William and Caroline are quite common names so with no surname it could be anybody.

It's a shame they don't give age either!!

I'm starting to think that this Caroline is the wife of Charles BLIZARD who also died in NSW in 1897. There are are number of NSW records relating to Charles and Caroline BLIZARD around Grafton

The death reg was a possibility for the above Caroline as you mentioned you had searched the SA Indexes, so didn't look there.

Following on from Leanne's posting...this would be Caroline the mother.
