Hi Duke,
I've had a quick look for Ernest Warrens's birth registration and there isn't one in the Bridgend area, though there are a good half-dozen or so within Glamorgan alone. To get a better sense of where to find him will probably mean getting his marriage certificate. Then you'll have his address at the time of the marriage and, hopefully, his age.
With Annie J. JOHN, there are only two in the Bridgend district of about the age to be married in 1922:
Annie Jemimah JOHN, birth registered 1Q 1886 Bridgend 11a 643. Probably a little on the old side, but can't be ruled out.
Annie Jane JOHN, birth registered 3Q 1900 Bridgend 11a 829. More likely! I wouldn't swear to it off the top of my head, but I think she's 8 months old and listed with her Grandparents in the 1901 census - William and Elizabeth Richards at Pencoed, Bridgend, aged 65 and 64 - with three of her elder sisters and their mother. RG13/5051/F126.
Best get Ernest's and Annie's marriage certificate before you try and go any further!
Regards,
Lee.
