ILLOT Family

Does anyone have any information on the Illot family?  I have a Charlotte c 1798 - 1844 marrying Thomas Hanchant in Aston in 1819.
She had an illegitimate daugher Ann.  Have not been able to trace her family.

Do you mean Charlotte's or Ann's family?  Charlotte appears to have settled in Thomas' home parish of Shephall and is living there with him and their children in 1841.  I will gladly post details if you do not have them. 

Ann does not appear on the Herts Online Marriage Index (to 1837) and I am struggling to find her under ILLOT on the '41.  This rather suggests that she may have married between these dates.  Such a marriage does not appear on FreeBMD unfortunately and it may be worth checking the complete GRO indexes for it.  I have also checked the Herts Burial Index which is incomplete for an infant death without success.  HALS may well have bastardy records in its archives for her and these can often prove an useful source of biographical information.

Thanks Rick.  Any information on Charlotte's family prior to marriage and also on Ann.  I have Charlotte after marriage up to and including her death and will but have not been able to find anything prior to marriage.

Hi Deanne,
 
Ann's christening is recorded in the Aston Parish Records as  -
 02Mar1816  Ann d/o Charlotte ILOTT single woman of Aston.
There were a further 15  Ilott christenings at Aston between 1811 and 1840.

I have found a family reference (no source) that Ann married a James Burke
If someone has access to marriage records perhaps they could look for me?

Hi Deanne,

The baptisms were shared by four couples - William & Sarah,  John & Mary, Richard & Hester, William & Mary.   Presumably any further baptisms for Charlotte would be registered under her married name.

She had a further five children with her husband Thomas Hanchant (I don't believe there are any more) and I have their details.
