THANKYOU VERY MUCH - DONE _ Charndon - James THORPE Look up Please?
« on: Wednesday 07 January 09 09:30 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I have a James Thorpe B Circa 1810 in Charndon, later married Hannah Lambourn 1 July 1835 and had 9 children
I wonder if any one would be willing to look James Baptism up and see;
1. Date of bapt
2. Name of his parent/s
3. Where if recorded his parents were from?
If there are any details on Hannah who was also from Charndon B circa 1816 then that would be the icing?
Thank you in anticipation

The baptisms should be on the IGI (familysearch is down or busy at present so I can't check). You need to search for Twyford records (batch C148601) as Charndon is a hamlet in that parish.

   Hi ...

Found the full marriage for James ....

James Thorp of Steeple Claydon in county of Bucks
 Hannah Lambourn otp
31 Aug 1831.          wit. James Syret   Ann Lambourn

Now that date is from PR and there is no entry for 1835 and all of book is in the right order.

Had a look in Steeple Claydon but in 1899 the books were damaged by a fire and very little readable evidence can be seen . The remaining pages cannot be handled & 1809-1812 is one of those sections so could not read anything clearly.
There is in Steeple Claydon a burial in 1818 of James Thorp age 80 on 28 Dec  so the name is in the right place .

The IGI is up and running again so:

TWYFORD PRs (extracted)
HANNAH LAMBOURNE
Christening:  24 JUL 1814   Twyford, Buckingham, England

Parents:
  Father:  JOHN LAMBOURNE  Family
  Mother:  ELIZABETH

There is also an Ann in 1817 (Hannahs are quite often Anns).

Loads of Lambourns No Thorpes.
