William BRAHAM
« on: Wednesday 14 January 09 04:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi there from "Down Under"
I have what over the years has appeared to become an unsolvable dilemma  :-X

If anyone has access to PR's for Hertfordshire I would be absolutely thrilled if details on a certain WILLIAM BRAHAM could be located.

He was married in Berden, Essex, but is stated to be from Stocking Pelham.
His Marriage details:
William Braham, widower, of Stocking Pelham, Herts. to Sarah Knight, spinster of Berden, Essex  26 Oct 1827 in Berden, Essex

It would be fantastic to find ANYTHING about him - his previous marriage, death of first wife, children born to marriage if any.  (possibly Sarah c. 1823 & Rebecca c. 1825)

Hoping someone, somewhere might come up with something, anything.....   :)

Hi Barb

All Herts marriages to 1837 have been indexed and put online by HALS.

A quick search of the marriage index does not reveal an earlier marriage for William, which would seem to indicate that he may have married outside of the county.

I searched the BVRI which has good coverage for Herts but alas I could not find a baptism for William.  Being of a particular parish when you married is no guarantee that this was where the subject was born.  I searched the Herts Removal and Settlement certificates but could not find an entry for William I'm afraid.

Rick :)
