Census 1861 has John born in L?????. I think this is LUCKER, which lay within the Parish of Bamburgh.

Also the family were living in Newgate Street Morpeth. As Newgate St was/is the main street (once the The Great North Road) of Morpeth, he was living some distance away from Lord Ridley's dogs at Blagdon.

On the 1851 census his family is in County Durham, adjacent to Hardwicke Hall, where probably lord of the manor had a pack of hounds.

So when was he huntsman for the Blagdon pack ?

( On Scotlandspeople site there is a candidate for the family on 1841 census,
with John and Eleanor and children Mary Ann and Margaret ??... living in Dalkeith, Midlothian)
