Cullen from Lincoln - completed
« on: Wednesday 14 January 09 15:30 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I've just got back into my family history work now that I've been able to get some vital info from the 1911 census. I was wondering if anyone has access to the 1861, 1871 or 1891 census for Lincoln?

I've found the family that I'm looking for in the 1881 census, but unfortunately her husband wasn't at home that night, so I don't know how old he was or where he was born.

The entry in the 1881 census is:

Jane Cullen 50 Married born in Great Gonerby, Lincoln Gardener's wife
People living with her include her children, William P Cullen Jane D Cullen 16, Angie G Culen 14, John F Cullen 11, Selina S Cullen 8 and Charles Cullen 5.

The address is Church Lane Priory, Brant Broughton, Lincoln.

Her husband's name is John Cullen.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Kris.

You have locked your CULLEN thread, so I cannot reply there. - Moderator comment: topic unlocked and merged

I have sent you a message which reads-

Hi Krisandmary

You will have noticed in one of the censuses the existence of a William Palfrey Cullen

This suggests that his mother Jane may have the Jane PULFREY bap at Great Gonerby in 1830.  Indeed the names John CULLEN and Jane PULFREY appear on the same page of the GRO register

December 1857
Grantham 7a 842

John CULLEN does not appear on FreeBMD, but is in the full index.

You may not be able to reply to this message as you have not posted 3 messages on the board yet.

Here ya go ...
8 Dec 1857 at Grantham
John CULLEN (son of James) to Jane PULFREY (dau of William)

(from the Grantham spreadsheet, available here http://s10.freefronthost.com/mi/index.html )
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.
