Sidney Patterson - Bedwellty/Cardiff 1930s
« on: Wednesday 09 February 05 23:32 GMT (UK) »
My mother (born 1928) believes that her father was a butcher in Bedwellty and/or Cardiff - he left my grandmother in the 1930s, ostensibly to return to Australia - I certainly can't find any evidence of him having died in the UK.  Does anyone know where I'd find information re: tradesmen such as butchers in 1930s Bedwellty/Cardiff?

Thanks.

Su

Cardiff library may hold Cardiff District Trade Directories 1935-5,1936-7. You may be able to find information on him through his profession?
Cardiff Reference Library contact details can be found here: http://www.cardiff.gov.uk/libraries/

You could also try searching the Australian white pages incase he is still alive:

Hi Jen

Thanks for the info - I will give that a go.

No way he can still be alive, though, as he was born in 1883!
