Looking for any Higham family members who connect to the following family. Arthur Baron Brown was my father in law.   Thanks, Maureen



From the 1911 census.   Arthur Baron Brown was a "boarder" aged 7 years with:
James Higham aged 65, Picture Frame Maker born Manchester.  (1846)
Mary Elizabeth Higham aged 57. Born Leeds, Yorkshire  (1854)  Mary Elizabeth Swales.  Married Leeds  June 1884
William Higham, son, 24 born Leeds
Amelia Higham 17, born Leeds.
Foulkes, Peacock, Bailey, Steadman, Peachey  - Soham, Cambridgeshire

Lumsden -  Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland

Cartwright, Hutton, Umpleby, Johnson,Wilson,  Morgan - Leeds/Malton, Yorkshire

Dickinson - Bolton-on-Dearne, Yorkshire
Jackman - Gt.Yarmouth.

Brown, Lord, Plowman - Leeds, Etton, Yorkshire.
Hallan. London-Leeds
Hall. Nottinghamshire
Kenney, Campbell, Bowen, Griffiths, Davies, all Swansea

Do you have a copy of Arthurs birth cert?  What were his parents names

Yes Carole, I have the birth certificate. Father,  Arthur Herbert Brown, mother Agnes Mabel nee Kenney.

Thereby hangs another mystery.  On the marriage certificate for Arthur and Mabel, Arthur gives his name as Arthur Chester Brown and signs A.Chester Brown.   They both disappear after the birth!    Maureen

They married in Swansea and Agnes was born there

I wonder if they are in Wales in 1911

They married in Swansea then went to Leeds for the birth of Arthur Baron, so whether they returned to Wales is a mystery. I have tried to find what happened or why they fostered out their child.  I think this is one brick wall that is not going to be broken unfortunately.  Maureen
