Help looking for Great Great grandmother
« on: Wednesday 21 January 09 15:03 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for my Great Great grandmother. I have the following information on her but am looking for where she was born and the the area she lived in after she married also the plot in which she was buried, and any other information on her.
Eliazbeth James born in 1892 (poss a year either side)
Married Samuel Owens in I believe sept 1919 in Merthyr Tydfil (I am not 100% sure of this)
And I think she was buried in St Sannans church in Bedwellty

The reason I am after this information is a little different to most, My nan is now 83 and her mother (Elizabeth) died when my nan was only 9 so she remembers and knows very little about her. So we are hoping to take her on a trip to wales to see where she was born and the places she lived in and also to see the grave her mother was buried in.
My nan was brought to Northampton by her father and step mother when she was still young and she has only ever been back to visit a few times.
If anyone can give me any information I would be ever so grateful.

Thanks in advance.
Paula

Have you found her death, and got her death cert - that will hopefully give an address where she died.

ANd have you got her marriage cert? That will in turn give addresses then, plus her fahters details so you may be able to pinpoint her on an earlier census, and get more of an idea where ahe was born - thus in turn hopefully finding her birth

With name and date of death you should be able to find death in indexes, and thus send for death cert

Hi Paula

Can your nan tell you whether she has her own birth and/or marriage certificate?  They would give some idea of timescale and confirm her parents' details (just her dad on the m/c).

Don't give her name etc here but that should help you to know whether you estimates, and the marriage found above, are likely.

Then you might have to send for the certificate of her parents' marriage to work out the rest.

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)
