Could not find Abbw Vale on Genuki, and personally have never heard of it, possibly a mistranscription?  Only heard of Ebbw Vale

It is definitely Ebbw Vale...although on one census I have been it as Abbevale! I am visiting it next week. I certainly looks like a nice place...any particular part you are interested in?

Hi Reaybo

I am interested in the Iron/Steel Works that were there and where the records would be kept of who worked in them thta's all really

My Grandad worked there but unsure which Iron/Steel Works
There is a family story that my Grandad was the first ever person to have a skin graft due to an accident he had at the Iron/Steel Works

Anyway hopefully one day they will put online all the Iron/Steel Works that were in Wales and the info on the workers

Thanx anyway hunnie
