Many thanks for your fast response. (Both of them)
Now where did the lad go from 1891 - 1901?? That is the next objective.

I found him in London in 1911 Census.  He seems to keep the name Herbert but I wondered if he tried using Harry? I will need to be quite liberal with the County and birthplace spelling.

Not sure, had already had a look in 1901 in case you needed it but didn't see him immediately.  If that was him as a bargeman, he could have been anywhere, watermen notoriously difficult to find.  What was his occupation and birthplace in 1911, and was he married?

For census purposes some parishes in Hunts were included in Peterborough Registrar's District, and Peterborough was in Northants, which is why Ancestry for example show it as Stanground Northants. But the description of the enumeration district clearly states "in Hunts".

It used to be a right sod before online images when buying the Hunts CDrom set to find the parish you wanted was in the Northants set.

My thanks to you kind people for your help.
In 1881 census the father's name is shown as HENRY, so I will forget the bargeman occupation of 1891.

In 1911 Herbert was married? and living in Paddington. (Same type of confusion with districts,  eg sometimes LONDON sometimes Middlesex for the same year and place) At least birthplace shows Stanground Hunts.

Why?  I did give you father Henry with rest of family in 1891, and Herbert was not with them

then just gave you a possible for son Herbert in 1891 - asked you what his occupation was in 1911 to see if it matched up at all
