Townson family arrived in Toronto Canada 1918
« on: Wednesday 28 January 09 22:44 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for further information regarding the Townson family after arriving in Canada. Caroline Townson "Below" is my wifes Great Grandmother she arrived here shortly after being widowed in 1917.  I was wondering if anyone could assist us in finding out further information on her and her children.
Such as did she remarry, where did she live , when did she pass away, when and to whom did the children marry . I know this is a large order but any assistance or guidance in these areas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tony and Janis .

The only thing I have been able to pull up - and who knows if its related - is from the
www.ontarioobits.com site

obit
HIGGINS, Edna (TOWNSON); ; Oshawa ON; Oshawa This Week; 2007-1-19*BT/VM

obit
HIGGINS, Edna (TOWNSON); ; Pickering, ON; durhamobituaries.com; 2007-01-17

It this is your Edna she would have been 95 when she died.  You can order this obituary by going to the above site - it does take awhile to receive it.

Thanks everyone for your help . The obit for Edna was in fact the correct Edna. She was my Wifes Great Aunt.

We did find out a bit more information as follows

Norman Townson ( my Wifes Grandfather ) married Muriel Ruby Steane but we dont have the date of marriage.

We also found out their birth dates and date of death as follows :

Norman Townson Born 12/12/1909 Colne , Lancashire
Died 8/22/1970 , Toronto

Muriel Ruby Townson ( maiden name Steane ) Born 7/1/1913 Toronto. Died 3/13/1978, Toronto

We can't find a lot about the Steane family but we are working on it .

Thanks again
Tony.

There is an ancestry tree which covers this family but no reference to obituaries for the Townson's or Steane family.
Re-visted older thread 2009

Maybe RK or Eileen could assist with these to fill out the family tree.

There is a FIND A GRAVE entry

Norman Townson - 1908 - 1979

Glendale Memorial Gardens Etobicoke, Toronto Municipality, Ontario.

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/105816416/norman-townson

Muriel R. Townson 1913 - 1978

Glendale Memorial Gardens Etobicoke, Toronto Municipality, Ontario.
