1861 Saxilby / Broadholme / Brampton, Abraham SMITH
« on: Friday 11 February 05 15:08 GMT (UK) »
Please could someone have a look at the 1861 census at Saxilby, Broadholme or Brampton for Abraham SMITH, with his father Joseph SMITH.

Abraham is listed variously in the 1871 / 81 / 91 and 1901 census's as being born in Saxilby / Broadholme and Brampton, although in 1871 he was living in Finningley.

In 1861, Abraham would be 9 or 10 and his father was Joseph. Joseph in 1871 was listed as a Farm Baliff.

I know it's not much to go on but with the surname Smith I need all the help I can get!

Thanks,
Adam
Smith (Lincs), Crossley, Wadsworth, Jowett, Wilson (Finningley), Kershaw (Manchester), Swainson, Robinson, Holmes (Darley), Robertshaw, Thorp, Elliott, Daveney (Norfolk), Crabtree, Exley (Clayton West).

Thank you so very very much Wendy, it looks like this is the family I've been looking for, everything seems to tie up perfectly. I've also managed to find the family in 1871 thanks to your information.

It's only taken me a year to get this far!

Thanks again
