61st reconnaissance regiment.
« on: Saturday 31 January 09 13:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
My grandad, Cecil George Huzzey, was in the 61st reconnaissance regiment during ww2. This regiment was part of the 50TH (TT) NORTHUMBRIAN DIVISION which landed on Gold Beach on D Day.

I wonder if anyone knows where I could find out which Squadron he was in within the 61st reconnaissance regiment? His Captain was Captain Herbert Snook who was killed in action in early 1945.

Many Thanks for your time,

Paul. Bristol

Well the easiest would be to look at his records!

They are available (what has not been weeded!) from the MOD...

The second way is if you have any pics of him with his vehicle...That would do!  ;D ;D ;D

Third...

Any paperwork, letters etc
One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.
