That's OK Mum -it's taking an age to post

Just rechecked 1901 -Lily is 11 (there is a thick line through age -but it does look more like 11 - but Ada B's occ is definately Cotton Winder - although I can understand why Mum read it as laundress

Hello All,

Stringer is not a family member of mine, but I have been trying to search for a soldier (H Stringer 1779) who served in The Great War of 1914 to 1918.

I have 3 of his medals, and have been trying to find out more about him, to put some history to them.

He possibly lived in South Wales later on in his life.  This is not a definate though.

Hi Suzard,

No, 1779 was his military service number.

I have now found out today, that he is Harold Stringer, born 1901 and served in The Royal Field Artillery as a driver.
