Bare Knuckle Boxer

I was wondering if any one could help with finding info on my great grandfarther (Albert Bennington 20 jun 1893). the family storys are that he was a bare knuckle boxer and he was well know in the west midlands area as BENDIGO. i have no idea how or where to research? would there be any pitures or articles on him? any help would be great. thanks

My grandfather was named Albert Bennington and my father, Leslie has his middle name.  My father was quite a fighter once and he was known as Bruiser... don't know if there is any connection.
