Help please - Illegible Irish place name on UK census. Cowrush?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to the birthplace shown for two of my family in 1891.
On Ancestry it's been transcribed as Cownrsh but it looks like Cowrush.

It's not necessarily near Dundalk as the couple married in Birkenhead.

If anyone has any ideas at all I'd really appreciate it.

The name almost certainly is written with a capital C as it matches names like Cheshire and Cleveland on the same sheet.

the first one looks like Conrush, the 2nd time it does look like Cowrush

the 3rd letter looks like the 'n' in Ireland

The name does not ring any bells with me - I've had a quick look at the town land database at http://thecore.com/seanruad , but nothing seems to match so far....

there is a town is North Co. Dublin called Rush  - I wonder is that connected somehow

there's a Clonrush in Co. Galway.

It looks more like CONRUSH to me, or possibly COURUSH.

The closest match I can find to a townland name is CLONRUSH, which is in Galway.

I wondered if it could be Clonrush, but wanted to see if it looked that way to anyone else. The only other idea I had was a misheard Kilrush. I do think the Galway connection may tie-in though.
