Mary Belsey x 2 - Chillenden, Eastry, Dover St Mary, Northbourne

I have a Mary Belsey b. abt 1787 who while living in Dover St Mary it says she was born there as well as while in Chillenden it says she was born there. Someone has that she was cr. 27 Aug 1788 in Chillenden. Would like to verify the info on the parish registers for Chillenden if they are accessible to anyone here.

There is another Mary Belsey who I am interested in who was born about the same time give or take 5 yrs. Who says she was born at Northbourne. Interested in her cr. details.

Both Mary Belsey's married into the Terry family.

Also would like to see what can be found in Eastry for either Mary Belsey or John Belsey.  The former Mary above may have a brother named John Belsey b. abt 1781 who says he was born in Eastry.

1797 26th February  Mary  dau of George & Anne BELSEY

Baptisms  Eastry
1780 12th Mar  John son of Isaac & Ann BELSEY
There's another one about the same time:
1779 21st Mar  John son of William & Susanna BELSEY

There's a Mary dau of William & Susan, 6th Mar 1785.
Another one in 1777 & one in 1786. Details if you want them.

Still looking to see if there's a Mary Belsey cr. Chillenden abt 1788 also wondering if a James Goldfinch was cr. there around 1810.

I am thinking maybe the enumerator got James Goldfinch and his mother in law Mary Terry mixed up birthplace wise on the 1871 census.

Baptisms for Chillenden are on the IGI http://www.familysearch.org batch number C020833 and there is indeed a Mary BELSEY baptised 1788.  These are extracted records ie. extracted from the parish registers although it does appear to be females only at present.

thank you for that... I don't know why it wasn't coming up when I did a search... I couldn't find a batch no. for Chillenden so I assumed it was in there.

I think this is my Mary Belsey because she names one of her sons Isaac. And there is a John b. in Eastry to Isaac and Ann Belsey.  I was pretty sure she had a brother named John b. abt 1780.

Also to add to this, there are many Belseys in Coldred including Isaac s/ John and Ann c 20/7/1755.

There are other children but no marriage for John and Ann

I have checked the details & agree parents of our Mary BELSEY (chr 1788) are Isaac BELSEY & Ann KEMP.  We are in the UK & Mick is a member of Society of Genealogists in London.  He will be going to browse on Thurs evening, when it is open late.  Let us know what Parish Registers you think it would be most valuable to search first in limited time period- Eastry, Chillenden or Goodnestone
