Joseph FRY 1812 Guernsey

Hello yawl!!
I have been trying to trace the origins and family of my Joseph Fry, born
1812,  I have just found his entry in the 1851 Census (Cornwall ).
He married in Breage, near Penzance, Cornwall 1838
to Mary Ann Hall.
In the 1851 Census, Joseph states he was born on Guernsey.
He also stated on his marriage record that his father
was a sailor, also by the name of Joseph FRY.
Any clues would be welcome.

hi, I am also looking for birth place of the same Joseph Fry, just to confuse matters more the 1871 census lists is birth place as N. K. Devonshire

I now know a little more about the history surrounding Joseph Fry - and I have a possible solution, which I am putting together. "NK" is not known. "Devonshire" is a query. It is also clear that he was vague as to his origins and age, from later details I have.
What is your connection to Joseph Fry?

Hi, My connection is through Joseph Fry daughter Elizabeth Fry who wed William Stratten in 1868, their daughter Eveline was my great grandmother. most of the census have Joseph and Mary Ann births as around 1812 and 1820 which do not seem to tie up with their ages on their deaths on the bdm site. Terrific ... If you can wait a few days, I will post what I have to date, later on .... One problem is that someone has placed data on the IGI which is incorrect - I have original data transcribed by myself from the original Registers ( I have been tracing all my branches for over twenty years ), along with some Certificates, etc.,... I am also researching the family of Joseph Fry b abt 1812 in Guernsey.  My husband is descended from his daughter Martha Fry b 1857 Sancreed.  Any help you could give would be much appreciated.
Incidentally, we also live in the Penzance area!
