Hi,

Please can anyone point me to a site where there may be historic photographs of the following locations?

Blackberry Town, Rowley Regis.

The Hartstone Inn (at 1 Springfield Lane) Rowley Regis.

Bumblehole Road Dudley.

Hi Mim, this site has a Black Country section with a Gallery.  It is Blackheath Rowley Regis, not Blackberry!  linell.

Wonderful stuff!
I'd seen PaulStaffs site (which you should find very useful, mim), but the other one, from linell,  is new to me.
Looking forward to a good look through, tommow.
Thank you :)
P.S. If anybody comes across an old photograph of the Red Lion Inn at Tipton - Fisher Street (called the Brown Lion before that)) I would love to hear from you. My ancestors were licensees there from the 1860s to about 1900 - so it would have to be quite an early one!

Hi linell & PaulStaffs,

Many thanks for both of those sites which I will enjoy looking through.

linell - my ancestor was definitely in Blackberry Town, Rowley Regis on the 1871 census.

Hi mim,
If you can give us a few details - ancestors name, census details, etc. then we can see what the enumeration district is, and try to figure out where it might be.
Paulene :)

Hi Paulene,

My ancestor is Polly Munn and the census details are RG10/2993 120 36.

The listings at Blackberry Town are preceded by Springfield Lane and followed by Knowle Lane.

Many thanks for your help.

Hi Mim, I found your Polly a Servant Girl in Blackberry Town, not seen or heard of it before, it is not on the old Maps, don't think it is there today?  Here is another BC Gallery:- http://www.blackcountrygob.com/Photogallery/

Paulene will look out for your Tipton picture, speak soon, linell.

Hi linell,

That's another brilliant site!

I've found a present day photo of the pub I wanted on a different site. When I've had another look at the census it is actually 'Hailstone Inn' and not 'Hartstone'.

Many thanks for your help.
