Hi stewnkez,
A Big Welcome to RootsChat and the Wiltshire Board
Do you know where in Wiltshire Samuel was from? Do you have his convict papers from Australia? What was his occupation in Australia?
I see Samuel
WALLIS
and Thomas
TIBBLES
were convicted at New Sarum Assizes 6 March 1847 and transported for 10 years. Arrived aboard the Adelaide 8 Aug 1849
Cheers Kris

Thanks Chris
No convict papers but yes that's him, tried at New Sarum, 10 yrs, came out on the Adelaide. Went to Berrima Nsw. He was a boot maker. his baptism record (I think it's his ) indicate Wroughton 17.3.1816 son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Grubb) The dates and names tally with his marriage cert.
I appreciate your vey quick response, and help
Later,
Kerry

Hi Kerry,
1841 census available free online. There is a Samuel to fit in Wroughton.

Hi Kris,
I'm overwhelmed... will have to sleep on this and get back on line again tomorrow evening. I thought I would wait for months for any response.
Thanks again
