Marriage of Stephen Buxton

Hi

Is anyone able to help with the marriage of a Stephen Buxton in the Gissing/Diss area about 1730 ish.

I don't have any other details about him apart from the fact he had a daughter Elizabeth in 1732 in Gissing and I am having difficulty tracking down this family.

FreeReg shows the marriage for a Stephen Buxton to Mary Stannard, widow on 25/6/1725 Tivetshall St. Mary.

This village is immediately above Gissing on the map so looks likely.

Thanks for that, I need to get the map out and study it, I did look on FreeReg but obviously was just looking for Gissing and Diss and forgot to check other places

Unfortunately after some further investigation on Free Reg it looks unlikely that that is the right marriage.  I have now found the baptisms for a number of children to Stephen and Elizabeth Buxton in Gissing after the baptism of my Elizabeth in 1732.

So it looks like I am looking for a Stephen and Elizabeth.

If you didn't realise, the Southern outskirts of Diss are next to the border of Suffolk. Gissing is just North of Diss. You may find looking at both counties will help if you can't find what your looking for.
