William RANDALL bc 1870 - Lookup Please

can anyone look up William Randall born 1870 in Arlesey Bedfordshire. He was probaly adopted into Randall family as born out of wedlock.

Like Mum44 I can only see William in 1881.
What is your starting point for him? How do you know he was born out of wedlock? what makes you think he was adopted by a Randall family? any other iformation  eg marriage?

Hi Jan.
My father told my brother that his father (William Randall) was a foundling. When I eventually found my grandfather's marriage cert. under the heading 'father's name it named Randall - christian name unknown, deceased.'
If he knew his real father he would have known his christian name.
I am trying to obtain either/or birth certificate/adoption papers.

I would also appreciate any info at all on William Randall at Arlesey. I have noted the reference to being a boarder at 12 y.o.a.

This is going to be tricky. At the moment you have him as a 12 yr old boarder in 1881 but nothing else, however you do have his marriage cert which may help pin him down in later censuses. Could you give us all the info that appears on the marriage cert please?

No luck in 1871. Of course if he was a foundling he might be under any name at this stage if not yet abandoned by his mother. Not sure where to go from here, will carry on thinking.
