I am looking for birth details for Joseph Johnson. Born circa 1838 in Ellel.
Ellel covers a  wide area between Lancaster and Garstang. I can find him on the 1871 and 1881 census, but his birth details are a mystery. Yhey do not show up on any of the usual web sites.

Have you any inkling as to who Josephs parents were and where was he living in 71/81 just to try to narrow things down a bit

No this is one of the things I would like to know and I am well & truly stuck all the time.
his wife Ellen Fairclough was, according to the census also born in Ellel in circa 1841.
