Hi All

I got very excited when I spotted this section.

Is it possible for someone to have a look for a MI for Peter Sinclair.
Peter was born 1837 South Ronaldsay Orkney. He died in 19 Feb 1874 NSW
Roockwood Independent Cemetery NSW Australia, Section 5, Grave 1751.

Peters parents Were Peter Sinclair and Sinclair Anderson. However I understand that there has been confusion as someone put his fathers names as James which is incorrect.

Peter Married Margaret Connor not sure when and she died in 1869 in NSW.
They had two children who died very young.
Susan G Sinclair who was born and died in 1866
Elizabeth A Sinclair born 1868 NSW, died 1880 NSW.

After the death of his first wife he married (whom I think was her sister) Elizabeth Connor in 1874 NSW.
They had one child Matilda Charlotte Sinclair born 1874 died 1928 Redfern NSW Sydney Australia.

I am pretty confident of this information though I have no certs to verify it.

I have put everything I have just in case someone recognises any family names. Any information will be most gratefully appreciated.

William Sinclair

Hi William

I have had a look at the Rookwood disk, and am sorry to say there is no Peter Sinclair listed , also nothing for Margaret Sinclair, maybe there is no headstone,

regards

Cass

Hi William

I've found Peter on the Rookwood site: http://www.rookwoodindependent.com.au/Mapping/Index.aspx
His details are: Presbyterian  Section 5 Grave 0000764  Date of interrment 21 February 1874

There are two other Sinclair buried in section 5: Catherine E W 0000711 19 December 1872
                                                                            Mary                 0000526   21 Sept 1872

There is also an Elizabeth in Section 6 0001124 22 January 1881

The two young ones are not listed at Rookwood. As one death was registered at Glebe, the girls could be buried at Field of Mars.

Would you be good enough to check if there is a gravestone for the following

Surname   SINCLAIR
Given Names   WILLIAM CHRISTIE
Age   76 Y
Date of Death
Date of Interment   09 Jul 1918

Denomination   Presbyterian
Section   6D
Grave Number   0010452

I am trying to discover if he was Captain William Christie from Orkney

Much appreciated.

Hi there Willie,

I don't have the disc. It is mfcnt who appears to have it.

If there is one I can go and photograph it for you.

I have been to the Presbytarian section and I can tell you that there are more graves without, than with headstones. Hopefully you'll be a lucky one.

Jamjar.
