Hi Susie,

I have found this.Not sure if it is the right person as the age at death dosen`t quite fit his age at marraige if you get what I mean

Bernard Connors [spelling is different also]
Died 5th of June 1888 age 77  RGD 35   219/1888  Launceston.

Launceston is in the North of the State,so is Emu Bay.

He married Catherine Hutton in 1883 aged 70 so the dates don`t quite match.
He could have lied about his age when he married Catherine

Could be him though

Wow....you are a marvel ........I reckon this could possibly be him. Do certificates from that time have an informant.....we might just find Catherine there?

The ages /dates matching seems to be questionable throughout lots of our records, so I would love to get a copy of this one just to see if Catherine is mentioned.

Looks like a trawl through Launceston Cemeteries if it is him!

I  remembering  looking at  the  one  but discounting  him  but  you  never  know  as  no  other death  seems  to fit  the bill

Thanks for your link.......i will add it to my growing number of genie bookmarks.

Looks like there will be no mention of his spouse.........so cemetery trawling looks like the option here to make sure it is the right Bernard/Barnard.

Hi Susie,


Hopefully this is your Barnard. The person who gave his details at his death may have gotten his name and age wrong. It does happen.

Just looked in the Launceston Carr Villa Cemetery and he is not buried here. I tried all different spellings.
Will look elsewhere and see if I can find him. A lot of the details on line are for ones with headstones.
I will go and ask some friends who have records of burials in Launceston.
