Hi,
I wondered if there might be a possibility of him being in the phone books on ancestry.co.uk (free in most libraries + 14 day free trial online). If he is then that will pinpoint the area he was in before he died.
Otherwise it's a case of going through, year by year, on a site like ancestry, searching every quarter in every year through the death indexes - it can be done! Just start with the oldest age he could have been and work backwards.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Morgan Charles married Pollie Mary Pontin, daughter of Ambrose Pontin. They had at least tfour sons, Leonard, Charles, David and Cyril. If you are descended from one of these we are cousins removed.

Hi Charles
It is a big task to search all the quarterly returns for thirty years to find a death - but that's what you would need to do!
I wonder if there is anyone left alive in your family who might be able to give you a closer approximation of the date?
Otherwise you could try the electoral rolls for the dates in question - available on some pay-sites, I believe.
Sorry not to be able to offer more concrete assistance.
Kind regards, Arranroots
