1910 Montana,Cascade,Stockett
Roll T624_830 P9B Dist 57 Im 799

This census is extremely blurred and almost unreadable so I will use the information from the index.

Adam L Lendora, 38, b1872 England. Parents both from England. Married. Immigration 1891. From the original, occupation is very blurred but could be coal man???
Charlotte, wife, 20, B England (Parents from England) Immigration 1898
Children Adadina 6, Frances 4 Hill Helen 1 All female and all born Montana .

I have transcribed these strange names as they are written on the index. Perhaps the next census will be more readable.

Thank goodness! I can read this one.

1920 Montana, Cascade, Sand Coulee
Roll T625_968, P 11B, Dist 36, Image 629

Adam, 47, b abt 1873, Scotland, Scottish parents, white, male, renting, Immigration 1903. Pump man at Coal mine
Charlotte, wife, 43, Bb England (Both parents English) Immigration 1903, no occupation.
Female children Adeline 15, Frances 13, Helen 11, Dorothy 4 & 3/12
Male children, Robert 9, Edwin 5, Donald 2 & 11/12
All children born Montana. It looks as though under 5's had to give age in years and months.

I'll see if I can find them in 1930.

Unable to find Adam in 1930 census.

However there is another Adam Leishman born abt 1885 Scotland.
He is on 1895, 1905, 1915 Kansas State Censuses and on the 1910 and 1930 USA censuses

Also Adam Leishman b 1878 Iowa, Scottish father

Also A H Leishman b 1882 Scotland, arrival 1915. 1930 USA census living at Seattle King Washington - could this be the Adam who died at Spokane Washington in 1941 More likely I think as he's already living in the area.

A lot to puzzle over here I think!

Hi Angela

Thanks you so much, your are a star ;D.

The info you have provided looks very good to me.

I will pass this info onto the appropriate researcher who I am sure will be grateful to you.

one last thing,
Can you remember if Adams surname was transcribed as Leishman on 1920 Montana census and again his wife and children's surname in 1930 as Leishman.

again thank you for your time.

Name spelled Leishman on 1920 and 1930 records. Only the 1910 census had a problem and was almost unreadable.

I used son Edwin's details to trace the family on the 1930 census. There are aditional records there about him.

24 Oct 1942 enlistment at Butte Montana - WW2 records. Married

Death record gives DOB 6 Jun 1914
Died 12 Dec 1996 Montana

Glad to help. Just let me know if you want any more info.

Just let me know if you want any more info about Adam's children. The boys should be easy to trace as they don't change their names.
