Oh well,

I must be very thick then, I only do the quick ones and cannot do the cryptic ones at all

Never mind we cannot all be clever!  ::)  I shall stick to the things I like!  Not very keen on puzzles anyway! 'Cept FH ;)

Hello,
I voted "I don't know" but I lean towards 'Strong Doubts".But the fault lies with Me.there seems to be two problems hounding me.
1.As an American I'm to far removed from my "roots"to pick up the "scent".
2.My grandmother is the encyclopedia of family knowledge and she is so very hard to get ahold of right now.

Hello Lyons22, Welcome to Rootschat and PLEASE don't be discouraged.  If your grandmother is a font of knowledge, you simply must make a strong effort to glean those valuable tidbits from her before it is too late.  :'(  ALSO, since your roots were from Ireland, MANY of the people who came over to the USA maintained very strong allegiance to their homeland, and perhaps more importantly, their county and parish.  On many Irish tombstones in the USA you will find those references. As suggested earlier, work your way methodically backwards.... And, remember that Rootschatters are here to help you.  Pat

Hi,
YES gets my vote! :)

There is a tremendous wealth of knowledge to be gleaned just by reading the posts.  There are a lot of friendly and very knowledgable people around who always seem to be willing to help in whatever way they can.
 :)

I must vote yes, I have helped others and have found it very rewarding, and,  have had a great deal of help from others on Rootschat, as I say 2 lots of eyes are better than one and often the info can be there it just needs a bit of help from someone else

Happy hunting all you Rootschatters

I have only been on this site for a couple of days.  I was on the chat and Yor looked up for me my Jackson family.  I have people look up other sides of my family.  I have been looking since 2003 but found some basic information which took me a couple of years.  Since I have been here I have received so much infor that I can't believe it.  This site is just fantastic.   :D.  Thank you to whoever created this site its just wonderful.

This is THE best and most helpful site i've come across when it comes to family research....and i never feel awful or stupid for asking "simple" questions here.

The best thing about this site is being able to help others out too :D

I've only been a member for a very short time and I've been amazed at how generous people are with their help.  Before, I felt I was going round in circles looking for ancestors, but this site has made me more focused and got me thinking in other directions.  Thank you.
