Newspaper Obituaries Allendale 1840 and 1873

Enquiring about whether a local newspaper in Allendale or Allenheads, Northumberland would have printed an obituary for my ancestor in 1873?? He was a Thomas Bell who died on 8th June, 1873 at Shorngate, Allendale. I would also like to check the same for his wife Nelly (known as Eleanor) Bell who died on 19th November, 1840 at Risegreen, Allendale. Does anyone out there have access to the local newspapers for this area & what light they can shed on these death notices/obituaries. Thanks.

The paper started in 1864 so may assist with your 1873 query. There is no online search available so I suggest contacting them by e-mail, unless another rootschatter has easier access.
