Yes i do have Ernests birth certificate and his marriage certificate. It does,nt say his father is deceased on it, but neither was he one of the witnesses.
 I hav'nt got Ernest in the 1911 census either although he married in MArylebone in 1915.

What occupation does it give for his father on marriage cert?

Who are the witnesses? (not Toogoods by any chance!)

On Ernest's birth cert his fathers occcupation Razor Grinder.
Ernest's fathers occupation on his marriage cert says hes a coachman.

The witnesses unfortunatley were not Toogoods they were Ernests wifes family.

Hi

Thank you both so much for all your help i really appreciate it. I do believe that my George is the one in the 1901 census and he died in Christchurch in 1925.

The 1871 census info looks really promising, i think i will try and follow this family right through to check its the right one.
