Canadian Soldiers of WWI - nurses COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 22 February 09 20:24 GMT (UK) »
Hello all!

I have found that my husband's grandmother was in the first world war as a nurse!

I have her papers here:

http://content.ancestry.ca/iexec/?htx=View&r=5543&dbid=1086&iid=gat3/120971a&fn=Sylira+Octaria&ln=Stockton&st=r&ssrc=&pid=339752

There's no number or reference.  But can anyone tell me if she would have gone overseas?  Under which unit?  Where?

Thanks for any and all help!

Your link won't work for anyone who doesn't have a subscription to Ancestry.ca. Here is a link to the same information at Library and Archives Canada:

There are instructions at the link on how to order a copy of her WWI file which would provide answers to the questions you asked. The charge depends on how large the file is.

Hi, lorrainec.......J.J. here,  from the other thread... ;D
No need to make more than one topic on a person on here, as we're just a few handfuls of us, and so it can often make for duplication of searches and resources...it would have been nice to have seen that you'd had that information on CEF on the other thread.

My apologies.  I get too excited and just start  a new thread with each thought!

I will be more careful in the future.
