Joseph Hery Jones on MEGANTIC 1924

Hi, I am looking for JOSEPH HENRY JONES who sailed/arrived to Canada on the MEGANTIC in JULY 1924 but I can not find a passenger list for the MEGANTIC.

He stayed in Canada for 6 years before returning to CORNWALL ENGLAND

He was aged 22 years old.

Is there anyway of knowing who he was going to stay with in Canada ? Or can Iview the passenger list?

I would be very grateful for any help you may give please, as I am doing this for a friend who does not understand computors or how they work.

How do you know he travelled on the Megantic in 1924?  I've been checking the passenger lists on findmypast but I don't see a matching record for 1924.  The Canadian passenger lists for this year aren't available online which is a shame because they often contain more information on the final destination than the incoming lists.

Was Joseph originally from Cornwall?  Could he have been travelling with anyone else?  This might help narrow down the options either side of 1924.

Sorry, my fault I put the wrong year in  It should have been  24 July 1928.

A card was sent to his mother to say they had arrived.

Joseph Henry Jones would have been 26 years old.

I think I've found Joseph's passenger record, his age is transcribed wrong, says he is 34 but when you look at the original it looks more like 24. He is the last entry on the page & its a little hard to read. It does not say who he is going to stay with, just that he is going to Toronto Ontario. It gives his mother as S. Jones of Carnhill Green. Is this the correct man?

I don't know if it is the correct JOSEPH or not as his Mother's name was LILY living in BARRIPA which is very near CARNHILL GREEN.

Could the S look like an L do you think?

Joseph was born in 1903 so the age could be right couldn't it ?

Am I able to get a copy of the transcript?
