i am looking for the name of the wife of John Henry Chaplin born in pontypool in 1877. he married in bedwellty in 1899 i have found him living in llanhilleth aberbeeg monmouthshire. his wifes name has been transcribes as vicus c born in aberbeeg in abt 1877, but i cannot trace anyone born of this name or anything similar in the area. also on the original census form it is impossible to read. There daughter was called Ivy Theresa Chaplin born in aberbeeg in 1900
any help would be appriecated

It can't be Matilda as freebmd shows her b 1868 in Bromley Kent and 1901 confirms she is Matilda Martindale living in Monmouth

Although not definitive these children were born of a father surname Chaplin and a mother maiden name Williams in Bedwelty between 1912 and 1930.  If these tally with your tree then that adds weight to the mother of Ivy Theresa being G G Williams
