I am trying to trace the whereabouts of Catherine Young born 23 rd November 1893 inEdinburgh. She is believed to have been a nurse in France during WW1 and was a fluent French speaker. If anyone has any links I would be most grateful

Hi EuroDan,

You might want to check out the 1901 and 1911 censuses. Other family mebers might be on the censuses as well. They are transcribed on www.automatedgenealogy.com. Hope this helps.

If she was in the CEF you can get a copy of her war records that will give lots of info.

Don't know who she served with ,have little or no information about her

If you go to Cyndi's List, a web site that has amazing number so links to data bases etc., and go to the Canada section I think you will find there is something about how to find people who served in the armed forces and get info about them. It is a while since I did this  but it is worth browsing Cyndi's lsit to see what is available.
