Who are they?

 Ikeep coming back to these two sharing a ticket on the Scotsman leaving Liverpool  for Mantreal and Quebec on the 18th September 1897. The arriving schedule isn't very clear but the ages have changed ,the occupation of W has changed and they are no long together. I'm not sure about Mr McMillan(?) the only one Ive found on the matching arrival is  said to be "gent"- a far cry from a labourer. Can anyone find them before they to go Canada and find out what happens to them there?
